Retreading is Recycling
After their tread is worn, many used tires are either landfilled
or incinerated. In fact, over 280 million tires are discarded
every year into landfills, tire piles and roadsides.
But why toss a tire when you can recycle it? By using state-of-the-art
technology, we produce quality retreads with just 30% of
the energy used to make new tires. And we use less oil, too.
It takes 22 gallons of oil to manufacture one new truck tire.
Most of that oil is found in the casing, which is reused
in the retread process. As a result, it takes only 7 gallons
of oil to produce a quality retread. Which means no waste,
and NO DETOURS™. Which is much better for the environment.
